Twister in BSG (HIGH BANDWIDTH THREAD)

Has BGS had a storm this bad in recent years? Or was this a first for that specific area?

I know that Castlewood had a microburst not long ago and it sounds very similar.. signs being ripped down, large trees being toppled, debris flying around everywhere, chaos all over.

WJHL's radar indicated the storm was showing signs of rotation from about northern Lee County and on up through near Norton, but right around Big Stone was the strongest. Actually looked like multiple sites. Sounds like it was a microburst probably, but it will be a while before its officially confirmed after the NWS gets a survey team to assess things. Heard an officer earlier say he was about three miles from the line in Lee County and couldn't even get up there. VDOT is blocking the highway off from Lee County in and also from East Stone. If you're coming from Lee, they said you'll need to come across lovelady or come back through Pennington and off through 421 and around. Sending a lot of police and rescue personnel up there. Called out Dryden's fire dept. out, guess they're heading up there to assist.

I think they're now allowing people through rerouting traffic through from Lee instead of turning them back through Lee.

power went out here in norton at my house for like 15 mins got lots of rain and wind but thats it

All the firefighters from Norton took off down that way. Some have said that Bullitt Park is non-existent right now. It was near the Cadet section. The new bleachers have been torn up, seems to be pretty bad down there.

That explains why I saw a line of county mounties heading toward Norton on 58 in Tacoma.

just came back through town, there allowing traffic,
trees are down everywhere, every fire dept from BSG to st paul is there & if im not mistaken clintwood and haysi are on there way down too

shelters are being opened and a door to door search is being performed

I have heard that it was not a tornado that touched down, but a "Cell", which is a tornado that does not touch down. It still did an incredible amount of damage and is extremely dangerous...I hope and pray that everyone who lives in that area survived this natural disaster...
